Creating a Glog:

Now, you will have some time to explore the tools available to you and your students within Glogster. It is advised that you create a sample Glog so that you are familiar with the tools before releasing your students into Glogster. The tools we will explore are also available to your students when they log in via their student accounts.

Pay attention. There will be a short quiz following this segment of the module.
1. Click “My Dashboard” to head back to the main page.
2. Click the pink tab, “Create a New Glog.”
3. The following video tutorials will lead you through using the main tools nescessary for creating a unique Glog:
  • The following tutorial reviews the information we have covered so far (ignore the fact that she says you are allowed 200 student accounts. This is not true for the Basic account) and will introduce you to the processes you will take to create a Glog: Introduction to Glogster Tutorial
  • This video is a 90 second review of the tools you will use to create a Glogster: Glogster Tools Review
4. Please note that Glogster will only allow videos up to 100 MB. Raw video footage takes up a lot of memory (usually more than 100 MB). We recommend using an application such as Windows Movie Maker or Animoto to create the final cut of videos uploaded to your Glog. These applications compress the overall file.

  • Large files (such as images and vide os) may take a while to upload to your Glog. Try uploading these at the beginning of your work session so that you can work on other features while the objects are uploading.
